Taproot Cider House was founded by Jennifer Viren, a Traverse City native with a dedication to sharing her love for the environment and community through food and beverage. The team shares the same values, and the business has established itself as a creative outlet for locally focused and globally inspired plates, cultivated cocktails, and curated cider offerings.

The chef, Andrew, focuses on creating flavors that are true to the farmer, with food that is fresh, light, and pleasant to eat. He has a background in private cheffing in England, France, and Croatia, and is now combining global flavors with the bounty of Northern Michigan at Taproot Cider House and the new boutique winery, market, bakery, and farm at Taproot Farmstead.
